When a Child Dies
“This book is meant for people of faith who have lost a loved one -- particularly a child -- and for the people who love them. No book can adequately address everyone’s response to such overwhelming loss. Nor can any book fully capture all the dynamics of faith as it is questioned and reformed following such a tragedy. Our grief and convictions vary greatly…yet certain feelings and responses are common to all of us.
In this book I share my personal struggle to find light in the darkness that encompassed me and shelter in the storm that raged about during the illness and death of my little girl. It is my hope that through my experience you will better understand your own struggles in relation to your faith in God.
Perhaps there is a Laura Grace somewhere in your life. As you weather your ordeal, you will come to know firsthand the full range of emotions that accompany faith’s attempt to wrest some shed of meaning from the pain. The good news is that the encompassing darkness breaks when rays of hope shine through. The storm’s fury weakens and passes through time. Finally, God gives us the strength to move forward, ready for whatever lies ahead and confident in the One who goes with us.
